Ten Oaks Middle Students Win Award at National History Day Competition

After three students from Ten Oaks Middle won first place at the state-level National History Day competition for their group project, they took their performance, titled “The Lowell Mill Girls: Threads of Revolution,” to the University of Maryland for the national competition. There, they won the Outstanding Entry from South Carolina Award. Congratulations, Manuella Bastos, Ella Martire, and Kalli Peslis!

Ten Oaks Middle School is proud to announce that eighth-grade students Perla Diza Vargas and Andrea Chavez Garcia have been selected to present their National History Day website at the National Archives in Washington, D.C.

Perla and Andrea are among just 12 student entries from across the United States chosen to participate in this special showcase hosted by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) Foundation. Their project will be featured alongside exemplary student work from across the nation.
