Dear Silver Fox Family,

It is with great excitement and pride that I welcome you to Ten Oaks Middle School for the 2025-2026 school year! As your principal, I am honored to lead such a dedicated staff, exceptional students, supportive families, and engaged community members.

Since 2017, Ten Oaks has been a vibrant learning community where Success, Nothing Less! is more than a motto—it truly defines who we are and what we strive to achieve. We challenge our students with innovative curricula, high expectations, and engaging lessons, while celebrating their unique talents. Beyond academics, we prioritize kindness and support for one another.

Our theme this year is SHINE in Year Nine, a call to find and nurture the light within each student and within ourselves. Together, we will shine brightly, believing in our strength to overcome challenges and reach new heights.

We are proud to have a world-class staff, including Dr. JoLynn Prochaska, the 2026 Horry County Teacher of the Year, and Mrs. Christina Hackett, a Top 5 Finalist for HCS Support Staff of the Year.

Student achievement continues to be strong. Over 80% of our Multilanguage Learners are on track to meet their growth goals, and 28 of our eighth graders were named South Carolina Junior Scholars last year. Our Band and Orchestra Directors earned Outstanding Performance Awards for the second consecutive year, making Ten Oaks the only school in the county with both distinctions. The Lady Silver Fox Basketball team captured the HTC HCS Middle School Championship, while our Mock Trial team placed first regionally and eighth in the state, earning 22 individual awards. Our MathCounts team won first place at the Chapter competition and placed fourth in the state. National History Day winners advanced to the Nationals, outperforming all other district schools. Our students also excelled at the HCS Tech Fair, the Rubik’s Cube Team took first place overall, and our Esports program continues to grow. And that’s just a glimpse of all the wonderful accomplishments happening here each and every day. 

Safety is a top priority at Ten Oaks. We maintain secure facilities and follow regular safety protocols to ensure peace of mind for our entire school family.

At Ten Oaks, we strive to bring every Silver Fox in so they know they are valued, build them up by helping them gain the skills needed to thrive in a changing world, and send them out fully prepared to succeed in high school and beyond.
